Batman, The Dark Knight Rises London Premiere: Anne Hathaway in Gucci, Marion Cotillard in Dior PLUS Prince Harry!
Move over Spiderman, Batman is back. Last night saw the European premiere of the third, and final instalment of the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman trilogy in London and Grazia Daily was in the mix.
We were MOST excited to see 29-year-old Anne Hathaway, who plays Catwoman. Her pixie cut looks even better in real life, especially as it’s grown slightly past it’s distressed Les Miserables stage (have you watched the trailer where she ACTUALLY cuts all her hair off?). Anne admitted on the red carpet that her transformation into Catwoman took some work: ‘It took so much training,' she said. 'If you're familiar with my other works, you'll see that I'm not a natural bad-ass so it took a lot of work to get there.’
We weren’t 100% convinced on Anne’s droopy gold draped dress though. Instead it was Marion Cotillard and her Dior Couture outfit that stole the show. Just look at those Hollywood curls! The Batman ladies walked the red carpet alone, as did fellow Batman newcomer Joseph Gordon-Levitt who told Grazia how excited he was to work with Anne again.
‘People will see Anne Hathaway in a different light after seeing this film,' he said. 'She's so strong and she is such a bad ass. It's such a great version of Catwoman because it's not just a sexy thing.’ And when we asked the 500 Days Of Summer Star, and BFF to Zooey Deschanel, how he knew Anne already, he told us, ‘we did a movie together years ago called 'Havoc' and we've stayed friends ever since.' Lucky man.
We were also mightily impressed with Noomi Rapace who opted against a red carpet gown and wore an androgenous tailored look. She wore an A. Sauvage suit, tie and shirt, teamed with a clutch bag and heels.
A very tanned Christian Bale attended with his wife, Julia, while Tom Hardy donned a Burberry mac (good man) and arrived with his fiancée Charlotte. But one London premiere wasn’t enough for the Batman crew, oh no, they put on another one at Waterloo’s IMAX which proved to be a much more Royal affair with Prince Harry and his cousin, Princess Eugenie in attendance. Well, if it’s good enough for the Royals…
