David Ortiz Red Sox pre-game ceremony ends in a perfect way
The Boston Red Sox completed their homage to the city of Boston, the Boston Marathon victims of the attack and the brave servicemen and women with an a capella version of the national anthem, sung by the fans in attendance.
At the end of the national anthem, the longtime Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz took the microphone and spoke to the people, to let them know he called home for nine, what he thought of the city the past few seasons.
"This is our f ------ City," Ortiz said into the microphone as the crowd burst into applause. "And nobody is going to dictate our freedom.
"Stay Strong," Ortiz concluded.
It was the perfect ending to the ceremony, including Boston. The city suffered greatly during the past week and a return to some form of normality is long overdue, and one of the best ways to get back to this question with the sport.
